Meet Our Doctor

Terri Silverman, DMD

My name is Dr. Terri Silverman, although most of my patients have known me for so long that they just call me Terri. I have been practicing in the area and helping patients improve their oral health since 1986.

While completing my undergraduate studies at Adelphi University, I met my husband, Paul. I then moved on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where I completed my studies in 1980. After graduating from dental school, Paul and I served in the United States Air Force as dentists. During those four years, I had the opportunity to train under specialists, expanding my knowledge and abilities. Since then, I continue my education consistently to be aware of the latest advancements in dentistry. I have been trained in Invisalign® and am certified in laser dentistry.

After he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2004, my husband medically retired from dentistry. Together, Paul and I have two daughters, Rachel and Laura. I love getting to spend time with my family. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and crafting with my loved ones.

My goal as a dentist is to help patients be comfortable in the dental office so that they can receive the education and treatment they need and deserve.

Front Office

Karen Kessler — Front Desk Reception

I have been part of this dental team for over 20 years and have enjoyed every second of it. At our office, we are like a family. We are all working women who understand each other and lend a helping hand when something comes up at work or in our personal lives. I love seeing our patients receive our high-quality care.

I am very close with my family. I have three sisters and a mother who is over 90 years old. Together, my sisters and I help our mother live her healthiest life. In May of 2018, my daughter married a great guy, and I love watching them grow together.

In my free time, you can find me at the gym doing spin classes four days each week. I look forward to greeting you at our office!

Trisha Spurgeon — Front Desk Reception

Several years ago, I earned my secretarial degree at Long Island Business Institute. I have been working with the team at this office for over 10 years. I help keep everyone organized and jump in with both feet to learn new ways to streamline procedures. The girls at the office are great. We really are like family and try to get together outside of work at least a few times a year.

I have three adult children: two sons and one daughter. I also have one Maltese, one Shepherd Border Collie mix and one cat. I love running. In fact, I have run the Philadelphia Marathon and have done several half marathons and shorter races. Overall, I really enjoy working out in the gym and going on hikes with friends. My boyfriend and I also enjoy seeing live music and have traveled as far as New Orleans to go to music festivals.

Dental Hygienists

Mary Jane Bourgal — Dental Hygienist

I graduated from SUNY Farmingdale in 1979 with a degree in dental hygiene and have been with this office for over five years. I love being part of this team because our goal is to deliver gentle, thorough care to our patients and stay up to date with all of the newest information in dentistry, which I feel helps us and our practice.

My husband, Tom, and I have been married for over 40 years. Together, we have four children and six grandchildren. We love going camping. In my free time, you can find me gardening or cooking.

Jeanne Dipresso — Dental Hygienist

I have been caring for our patients for over 20 years. Prior to joining our team, I received my Associate of Science degree from Nassau Community College. I also completed my Associate of Applied Science in dental hygiene at Farmingdale State College SUNY.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my spouse of 30 years and our three children. I also enjoy skiing, hiking, kayaking and cooking. I genuinely look forward to seeing you at our office!

Dental Assistants

Donna Nobile — Dental Assistant

I have been with Terri Silverman, DMD for several years. We may be a dental team, but we feel like family. I enjoy working to the best of my abilities, helping patients feel comfortable during their visit.

In my free time, you can find me painting murals. I look forward to caring for your smile.

Kathryn Ward — Dental Assistant

I have been with our office for over a year. I enjoy being a team player, working with our patients to provide them with a positive experience. I take each day as an opportunity to learn and grow.

I have two awesome sons and an amazing husband, and I love taking the opportunity to spend time with them. In my free time, you can find me taking time to relax by exercising, cooking, gardening or reading with a glass of red wine.

Lisa Fusaro – Dental Assistant

Lisa grew up on Long Island’s North Shore in the hamlet of Northport. She is a graduate of L.I. University at C.W. Post. She has been a dental assistant on Dr. Terri Silverman’s team for 15 years.

Her compassionate nature and gentle chairside manner help patients feel at ease and comfortable during their visits. When she is not at work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children. Her favorite activities include hiking, horse back riding, visiting new eateries and hanging out with her friends.
